Sacha loves Nick. Yes, he knows he's not perfect. Yes, he's lazy. Sure, he's brooding. But Sacha is convinced that with a little effort, Nick may change, and then his hunky swan would become… an even better, more productive swan. Love can be very delusional.

The last two years have not been brilliant for the B&B. Business has been, at best, passable. They've made some money, but not enough to afford any significant renovations. For that same two-year period, Sacha and Nick have been a couple. They started slowly when Sacha made a concerted effort to make Nick fall in love with him. This involved making himself as attractive as possible, being supportive, giving Nick permanent employment at the B&B so he'd be close by, and not pressuring him about the writing.

As for Sacha's marital dreams…after dropping a mountain of hints – and eventually pushing Nick to ask him – Nick agreed to get married. In Sacha's own words, "I wore him down." Sacha knows his aspirations are so gay, so Martha Stewart, but he really, really wants the classic happily-ever-after life. He'd love to have the picket fences and the quilts and the scones and the golden retriever and the let's-never-go-to-bed-angry talks. Sure, that might be square; security is a much-coveted commodity.
