The independent production and distribution company, here! Films has acquired North American distribution rights to the film, Cut Sleeve Boys, from world-wide sales agent, Fortissimo Films. The film, written and directed by Ray Yeung, takes audiences into the underground drag club scene and is a tale of self-discovery masked by its involving and exotic narrative. With witty one-liners and an all-male production of the Miss Pacific Rim Beauty Pageant, Cut Sleeve Boys looks unblinkingly, and with great humour, at a host of quirky characters that inhabit this makeover of the British Chinese gay experience. Cut Sleeve Boys is scheduled to be released theatrically by here! Films in association with Regent Releasing in the Fall of 2006.

Cut Sleeve Boys marks the feature film debut of Ray Yeung, whose previous credits include the successful short films A Bridge to the Past, which was funded by the British Arts Council, and the acclaimed Yellow Fever, which won the Audience Award at the Madrid Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. Aside from being a lawyer, Yeung is well-known for his award-winning work as producer and writer of plays and commercials, not to mention his stature as Chairman of the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival Society. Cut Sleeve Boys stars Chowee Leow, Steven Lim, Gareth Rhys Davies, Neil Collie, John Ebb-On-Knee Campbell and Mark Hampton. The film was produced by Ray Yeung and Chowee Leow.

Cut Sleeve Boys is just one of many here! acquisitions in recent months, adding to its extensive library of cutting edge and notable library of films that serve its gay and lesbian audience.

The film is however not solely participating in Gay and Lesbian Film Festivals but is experiencing a very strong take-up in broad mainstream festivals. It has just enjoyed a very successful world premiere at the Rotterdam Film Festival, it is screening in the EFM (European Film Market) at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival, it is in the Bangkok Film Festival later this month and is screening in the Hong Kong Film Festival in April.
