here! set to premiere "Ice Blues: A Donald Strachey Mystery"

America's favorite gay private investigator makes a sizzling return to the network

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 6th, 2008 – here!, America's premium gay television network, is set to premiere "Ice Blues: A Donald Strachey Mystery." The fourth installment in the franchise once again stars Chad Allen as the gay private investigator and will co-star Sherry Miller (Queer as Folk). "Ice Blues" will make its network debut on Friday, September 5th.

"The Donald Strachey Mysteries" has been a groundbreaking franchise for here! Networks in that the films feature an openly gay protagonist who breaks stereotypes by being the hero in these gritty crime dramas. Furthermore, in what is a rarity in mainstream entertainment, Strachey is involved in a healthy, functional, loving and monogamous relationship with another man, his husband, New York State Senate staffer Tim Callahan (Sebastian Spence). The relationship is explored in fun, entertaining and thought-provoking ways.

Currently, the third installment of the series titled "On the Other Hand, Death" featuring a scintillating performance from screen legend Margot Kidder is airing on the network and has premiered to critical praise.

Following up on this strong momentum will be "Ice Blues," directed by Ron Oliver in what looks to be the franchise's most intense and character-driven film to date. This fourth installment in the popular and critically-acclaimed Donald Strachey Mystery series finds America's favorite gay private investigator Donald Strachey taking on the most complicated case of his career.

Long-time partner, Tim, asks Donald to uncover the source of an anonymous and generous donation to the Albany youth center that leads to a young man's death. As events begin to spin out of control, Donald and Tim join forces in a violent showdown between the dangerous kiddie-porn ring leader Frank Zaillian, his cold-blooded associates and the wealthy and deceitful Lenigan family. Tim finds himself waist-deep in Donald's mystery and the couple unites to fight against big business, personal demons and family betrayal.

"The Donald Strachey series is one of the network's most important and vital programs. To position an openly gay actor at the center of a series as an openly gay character involved in a healthy monogamous relationship is truly unprecedented anywhere else on television," said Paul Colichman, Co-Founder and CEO of here! Networks.

With a unique mix of provocative and intelligent character-driven stories, The Donald Strachey Mysteries continues to grow even stronger as "Ice Blues" is sure to make its mark as perhaps the most intense installment in the franchise!
