Gound-breaking television series honored at San Francisco awards ceremony.

HERE!'S THE DL CHRONICLES WINS GLAAD MEDIA AWARD Ground-breaking television series honored at San Francisco awards ceremony.

May 13th, 2008 – here!, America's premium gay television network, is pleased to announce that its series The DL Chronicles has won the 2008 GLAAD Media award for "Outstanding TV Movie, Mini-Series or Anthology."

The anthology series centers on the "DL" phenomenon in the gay community. It is not only the first show to examine this issue, but also the first of its kind to ever be nominated for or win a GLAAD Media award. The DL (short for "down-low") refers to straight men of color who live their everyday lives as heterosexuals, often married to women, but engage in discreet gay sex and gay relationships on the periphery.

"We are not only honored to have received recognition for this groundbreaking series from GLAAD, but also proud to have this exquisite show on our network. Our renewal of this series for a second season shows just how committed we are to providing the highest quality gay and lesbian television to our viewers," said Paul Colichman, CEO and Co-Founder of here! Networks.

here! Networks has recently announced that the show will be returning for a new season. Created by Quincy Lenear and Deondray Gossett (2 Cents Productions), "The DL Chronicles" is not only sexy and provocative, but also offers a socially-conscious insight into the lines between sexuality and perceived socially acceptable behavior within the African-American community.

Recent and upcoming here! original films, series and specials include: "Paradise Falls," a sexy dramatic series that follows the steamy scandals of the residents of a small town in the Northern woods; "The Lair," a provocative and sexy vampire horror series; "Dante's Cove," ranked "Best Soap of the Year" by "The Advocate;" the critically acclaimed "Shock To The System: A Donald Strachey Mystery," the second installment in the series of original films starring Chad Allen as a gay private investigator; the provocative six-part docu-series "Lesbian Sex and Sexuality," an unblinking look inside the world of lesbian culture from award-winning producer Katherine Linton; and the original film "Shelter," an indie romantic drama about love, family and trying to stay true to yourself.
